How it started!
I go by the name of Surge. My journey commenced by selling BBQ at various pop-ups and catering events in the city, with occasional help from my wife and daughter.
Soon enough, I recognized the necessity for a food trailer. I explored the options offered in San Antonio, which were predominantly Mexican or American-made trailers. However, due to budget constraints, both options were unfeasible, so I resolved to construct my own.
Two years later, I decided to shift my focus from BBQ to a fresh endeavor. Whenever someone laid eyes on my trailer, they would inquire about its origin. When I revealed that I had built it myself, they would often jestingly inquire if I could construct one for them as well. This made me realize the demand for a company specializing in repairing and renovating existing trucks and trailers. And thus, Tako Rent was born.
After mending and refurbishing countless trailers, it dawned on me that I could build them better than most manufacturers. Consequently, I made the decision to manufacture our very own trailers right here in San Antonio, TX.
